What to have handy.
You do not need everything on day one, but gathering these early makes the process smoother.
- Recent pay stubs (usually the last 30 days)
- W-2s or 1099s for the last two years
- Two months of bank and asset statements
- Tax returns for the last two years (or bank statements if self-employed)
- A government-issued photo ID
- Details on any other property you own
